ADORNMENT WORKSHOP // DEEP DIVE // IN MY STUDIO 2025

I’ve designed this workshop as a deep dive into lost wax casting. We will cover A LOT! And have a lot of fun. You don't need any experience with jewellery but if working with your hands is something you feel at home in, this is for you.

You can use this day as a way to get completely lost and immersed, in joyous confusion in something new and make your own pieces, or as an intentional way to develop specific new skills if you're already a jeweller. 

What I ask is you come wanting to play, have fun and learn!!. I can't make your entire design for you, but I will do everything I can to help you bring it to life 🤍

We will focus on stones in lost wax fabrication / making bezels either in wax or post casting in metal.

I could never find adequate workshops combining different types of wax / processes and appreciate the frustration of reaching a plateau.

I will provide a ready made basic band in wax and work with you on making custom settings for stones / pearls / intaglio etc..

We will then work to realise your designs with attention to specific sculptural problems and dialling in on an aesthetic you’ve struggled to articulate in your work. This could be as detailed or minimalist as you'd like.

We will cover the properties and use cases for different types of wax and how I love to combine them. 

I will explain the wax fabrication and production process and provide you with a list of materials and what you need to know to carry on after you leave my care,

We will break for lunch, but this will be a focused and rich day, in an intimate and jewellery nerdy group, in my studio.

I will run the wax workshop twice, August and September. You can come just for the wax, and if you want to work with stones and learn about the post casting assembling and cleaning up, I’ll be running a follow up 2 weeks later to show you how things come together, and you can set your stones, with my help!

Coming back to see the process through will give you more of an understanding of the entire process and how to layer techniques.

It's entirely up to you which one you'd like to do. you can come just for the day of you can make a more complex and layered design and gather again a few weeks later and use metalworking tools to see the project all the way through. It depends on your curiosity and what you want top get from the experience.

This is to give you an all rounded sense of how you might use wax and bench fabrication to create unusual work.

The workshop alone covers three pieces , two in brass and the ring in silver, if you want silver or gold you can just cover the metal, which we can work out on the day with the weight of your piece ❣️
