Paint Me Wild Dangling Earrings
Fate is not a destination- it can't be arrived at.
The Arts allow us to continually reinvent our world. We weave and paint, cavort with chance and uncertainty, dispelling the illusion of destination and the work being finished. We undomesticate ourselves through this vivid exploration.
We find ourselves on a personal and unexplainable quest, but for what? Beauty? Union? Ecstacy? Hedonism?
Perhaps it's unimportant why we quest. We find ourselves in the sheer pleasure of the treasure hunt, grateful that there is indeed treasure to be found, that our world is alive and imbued with tender virility.
"I live my life in widening circles
that reach out across the world.
I may not complete this last one
but I give myself to it.
I circle around God, around the primordial tower.
I’ve been circling for thousands of years
and I still don’t know: am I a falcon,
a storm, or a great song?"
R. M. Rilke
